I am an example of a Town Manger who came to the profession from the department head level. I started in government as an intern in the Commonwealth’s child protective services agency while I was in college. I worked at several state agencies in the human resources area, and came to Needham in 1990 as the Personnel Director. I became the Assistant Town Administrator, Town Administrator, and then finally Town Manager in 2005.
