GERRY WHITLOCK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: The Gerry Whitlock Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student who is enrolled in a college or university masters level program preparing for a career in public administration.
Amount: $1,500 to be paid directly to the successful candidate.

Eligibility Requirements:
♦ Currently enrolled student in a graduate program that prepares students for careers in local government administration
♦ Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent)
♦ Legal resident of Massachusetts
♦ Written recommendation by the Chairperson of the graduate program
♦ Recipient will be required to prepare a 2-3 page report on a municipality that has recently experienced a change in form of government. The report will be prepared under the direction of the Chair of the MMMA Form of Government Committee.
Criteria for Scholarship Award:
♦ Plans to pursue a career in local government
♦ Strength of past course work and present plan of study
♦ Undergraduate and graduate grade point averages
♦ Work, volunteer or internship experiences

♦ Application form
♦ Statement of proposed plan of graduate study and career plans
♦ Statement of any appropriate work, volunteer or internship experience
♦ Undergraduate and graduate transcripts
♦ Chairperson's letter of recommendation
♦ Recommendations of other graduate program faculty (optional)
♦ Recommendations of professionals working in the field of public administration
The MMMA Scholarship Committee will review all applications and make its recommendation to the Executive Committee. The selected student will be notified by mail.
